While self-awareness will help you figure things out, too much self-awareness will paralyze you.
Everything you do beyond mere survival is a performance. It is shaped by the lens through which you see the world and by the cultural structures that human beings have constructed over centuries.
You must not mistake your irritation with the performance for irritation with life itself. Life, the raw fact of your existence, is not the problem. The problem is how you engage with the performance and how you judge it.
You get to choose what performance you take part in, and how deeply you go.
Your lens distorts reality. You look for what you already believe and search for proof to validate it.
Take action towards the higher self, inaction breeds resentment and is the source of bitterness and evil.
Do not buy into the ideology of victimhood.
To believe that you are inferior, or born inferior, is a sin. Think of your ancestors, of the thousands of years that led to you. Where, then, does this sense of inferiority come from? Behold.
Meditation isn’t found in isolation. It’s found in what you are, in how you live, in whether you tell the truth. The greatest meditation is to live as if the truth matters, and to act it out.
You have voids of missing information, sometimes these are the missing pieces to move you ahead.
You are likely feeling stagnant, or irritated for lacking intuition or knowledge to have well rounded judgement.
Reading and writing are essential skills to develop and should not be limited to the discipline you have tied yourself to. They are the tools for thinking.
The highest kind of life is one lived close to the truth. Distort the truth for someone else, and you also distort your own reality.
Learn to differentiate between byproduct and process. Focus on the work itself.
The nature of work is greater than the nature of place. Choose great work and do it wholeheartedly, and it will lead you to great places. Do not choose work solely from an identity standpoint.
The biggest constraint you face is the belief that you’re constrained.
